WCC Hammers pound Salty Boys in IP&E ABL playoff

League leader WCC Hammers displayed their dominance as they drubbed Melekeok Salty Boysm 131-67 Wednesday night in the ongoing play off round of the IP&E Amateur Basketball League playoff round at the Palau National gym.

After taking a 28-26 lead at the end of the first quarter WCC Hammers outscored the Salty Boys with a 26-7 run to close the first half with a 54-33 advantage. From there WCC Hammers dominated the game and went on to score the win.

Five players from WCC Hammers finished in double figures with Manny Adelbai leading the way with 19 points as teammates Brandon Harvey finished with 18, Bunker Ruluked chipped in 17, Michael Williams Jr. had 14 and Nicholas Bradbury had 13. Jay Naguit, on the other hand, topscored for the Salty Boys also with 18 markers while Osamu Ngirchechol and Kumangai Maech added 16 and 14, respectively.

In other games, Ididers won over Bullets, 69-68; Airwaves defeated Melwert, 61-55; Aimeliik Rainers routed Matakui, 63-58; Melekeok Salty Boys beat Mercury Optimax, 86-84; Ranchers bested Cardinals, 77-64; and Meda outscored PCC Mesekiu, 70-50.

Games resume tonight with Ngerchelong Blue Sharks versus Airwaves at 6 p.m. while Mesang Red Storm will face Nationals 17 and Under squad at 7:30 p.m. Monday night games will have Meda against Papago Smooth at 6 p.m. as PCC Mesekiu will take on Breakers at 7:30 p.m.
