WU meets Spoilers in FBL Sunday

These questions will be answered on Sunday as the defending champion Western Union takes on the highly-financed team Spoilers in the resumption of the 2011 Filipino Basketball League (FBL) at the Palau National gym.

Sporting a 15-2 win-loss record, Western Union aims to solidify its hold of the top spot in the team standings. Set to pace for Western Union in their 3:30 p.m. encounter are Bong Alambra, Emerson Patenia, Erwin Senadre, Jeff Cruz and Sonny Jacinto.

On the other hand, team Spoilers (13-3) hopes to reclaim its lost glory as they will parade their formidable line up composed of Michael Bombita, Leonilo Gonzales, Mark Pagayanan, George Bernardo, Michael Garcia, Aries Echanova, Felix Masaganda and Joel Nacionales.

In other games, Surangel and Sons and team Jaguars battle it out for a spot into the quarterfinals as they collide in the first game at 11 a.m. Both teams sporting identical 6-11 win-loss tally and a win will separate them for a chance to move on to the next round.

Surangel and Sons will be led by Arnold Undencimo, Melvin Parrinas, Deloy Pingot, Dennis Demate, Rovic Puso and Ryan Tayag while the Jaguars hopes to have an explosive performances from Gener Aguinaldo, Norbert Nova, Ernie Bautista, Alrie Alba, Budz Pabro, Jayson Tabuyo, Eric Dedeles, Jun Ponting and Pet-Pet Joda.

Other games set are Hanpa Cardinals versus Mam’l Divers Rangers at 12:30 p.m. while the Ilocandia Bulls will meet the PNQ Rams at 2 p.m.
