Choppers, Spolier meet rivals in FBL Sunday

Tournament darkhorse Aloha Maid Choppers and team Spoilers tries to improve their respective records as they take on separate rivals, Sunday in the ongoing 2011 Filipino Basketball League (FBL), Sunday at the Palau National gym.

After taking a long rest, the Aloha Maid Choppers will try to shrug off some rust as they face PNQ Rams in the opener at 11 a.m. The Choppers, who are sporting a 7-5 win-loss column, will again rely on the team of PJ Esguerra, Ronald Reyes, Mark Lofranco, Rey Potot, John Lloyd Corpuz and Lito Cruzat while the Rams will have Junie Samantina, Jojo Cervantes, Jun Duenas, Leo Castro and the father and son tandem of Pons and Jake Mahor.

On the other hand, team Spoilers (9-3) aims to continue their winning run as they face Mam’l Divers Rangers in the main game at 3:30 p.m. The Spoilers will be led by it crew of Michael Bombita, Leonilo Gonzales, Mark Pagayanan, Georger Bernardo, Aries Echanova, RB Dorado and Marvic Ngchar while the Rangers will be led by brothers Joemar and Jay Naguit, Nico Hinoza, Rodel Ramos and Mike Guevarra.

In other games, Hanpa Cardinals will meet the Guardians at 12:30 p.m. as the Slashers will take on the Ilocandia Bulls at 2 p.m.
