KSHL 14 YEAR BOYS DAY 3 – WEDNESDAY 29TH

The first game today was between Ididers and Peched and while Ididers trailed on the scoreboard from the beginning they managed to fight back somewhat in the second half to make a better game for periods 3 and 4. The scoring duo of Colbert Etpison and Jackson Kadiasang for Peched both hit 30 points for the game while for Ididers it was Ngiratis Tellames with 17 and CD Ongidobel with 12 who carried the bulk of their scoring.

The 11.00am game between Dgnerongel/Mekatii Combo and Ngerchemai Ranchers was a thriller and went “right down to the wire”! With the scores tied at half time, it was the Combo team that made a break just before the end of the 3rd period to lead by 4 points. The Ranchers managed to catch up with just 3 minutes remaining and for the next 2 minutes it was basket for basket. With just 12 seconds left Ranchers Isechal Ngiraimau hit a huge 3 pointer to give the Ngerchemai Hamlet the win 60-57. For the Ranchers Sharton Ngiraklei continued his big scores with 18 points and Isechal Ngiraimau had 17. For the Combo team Jorvan Takawo had a game high 31 points and Kib Gabriel got 12.

Game 11 saw Ngermid pitted against Peched Reds with both teams looking for their second win in the league. A better first half by Peched Reds gave them a lead of 9 points at the half time break and while Ngermid outscored their opponents by 3 points in the second half it was not enough and Peched Reds went on to win by 35 – 29. For the winners Medermel Yaoch had 15 points and Olkeriil Kyota 12, while for Ngermid Tyler Otei scored 15 and Excel Otei 6.

In the last game of today it was the 2 Meda teams playing each other. The Meda team was obviously much stronger than Meda Juniors, however someone forgot to tell that to Meda juniors as through the first half they fought for every ball and never gave up. It was close thoughout and it was only in the last 2 minutes of the half that Meda managed to draw away to lead 34-22 at the main break. The second half belonged to Meda as they pulled away to win the game 69 – 26. For Meda their main scorers were Cody Ngiraungil with 16 and Solang Williams with 12. For Meda Juniors Gerome Petrus hit 11 and Keen Sakuma and Mada Akiwo got 4 each.
