Intense competition at basketball championship

THE USP Sonic basketball men’s team is on fire winning their first match against FNU Knights 10-9 during the National Basketball championship at the FMF Gymnasium in Suva today.

Basketball Fiji Development Officer Laisiasa Puamau said the competition had been intense in the men’s category and they were looking forward to seeing teams like Raiwaqa shine in the two-day competition.

In the girls Under 15 grade, Iconic Reeds defeated Rookies Red 38-19 while Raiwaqa thumped Rookies White 11-8.

In the men’s Under 15 grade, Rookies White thrashed Raiwaqa Red 24-12.

The competition is underway at the FMF Gymnasium and also at the USP Fitness centre.

The competition ends on Monday.
