Our Basketball Fiji AGM will be held at FASANOC Board Room at 10 am on Saturday 29th September 2018.
The Fiji Secondary Schools Basketball Championship saw Yat Sen Secondary School, Saint John’s College Cawaci and Marist Brothers High School dominate the Under-19 boy’s grade.
In the girl’s grade, defending champions, Suva Grammar School maintained their form after thrashing Lautoka’s Tilak High School 29-8.
Basketball Fiji chief operating officer Lai Puamau said yesterday with the intensity of the competition it is too early to determine who the favourites would be.
“All teams are coming in strong and it is too early to say who will win,” he said.
Puamau added that it is good to see newcomers Ratu Kadavulevu School participating.
“Tilak High School and Queen Victoria School have returned to the competition, while RKS are bringing teams for the entire grade.
“If given more exposure to the sport I believe they will be able to dominate as they have done in rugby.”
Pumau said the QVS U17 team is also a team to look for after they thrashed THS 37-13.
The competition continues today at the FMF Gymnasium and the finals is on Thursday.
