9th FIT Touch World Cup - Largest Ever Staged

The Federation of International Touch (FIT) have confirmed the 9th FIT Touch World Cup to be staged at the Taman Ekuestrian Putrajaya from Monday April 29th – Saturday May 4th, 2019 will be the largest Touch World Cup ever staged.

There has been an increase of some 30% in total team entries over the previous event staged in 2015 – the largest world cup competition at that time.

The event will –

-      be staged over 6 full days of competition

-      played on 15 fields

-      26 nations will compete

-      11 categories of competition will be contested

-      119 teams participating

-      Approximately 2,500 players, coaches, managers and medical support

-      Approximately 150 referees & officials, medical staff and technical management

Malaysia (and Asia) have never seen a sporting spectacle like a Touch World Cup. Most world cup of sports are watched by a spectator audience watching a single game.

The 2019 Touch World Cup involves up to 13 fields starting simultaneously involving 26 teams and 39 referees on each field – all starting and stopping to the same time cycle; with games commencing on a 55-minute sequence, some 10 plus game starts every day for the 6 day’s,

FIT Touch is a unique and independent sport that attracts males and females of all ages whom enjoy competition from a social level to competition that involves elite athletes.

The 9th FIT Touch World Cup will be made possible due to the support of Perbadanan Putrajaya and the management of Taman Ekuestrian Putrajaya.
