Please find below outcome from last night's AFL Victoria Tribunal, involving Williamstown player, Tim Currie.
AFL Victoria’s Match Review Panel charged player Currie for striking Northern Blues player Jesse Glass-McCasker during the final quarter of the VFL Round 2 match, Northern Blues vs Williamstown on Saturday 22nd April, 2017.
Based on the available video and medical report, the incident was assessed as careless conduct, high impact and high contact, which resulted in a four match base sanction, with the option of accepting an early plea of three matches. Due to the players previous tribunal record, the base sanction has been increased by one match.
Williamstown contested the charge at AFL Victoria's Tribunal, which was last night dismissed, therefore increasing the ban by one match, and now being a four match sanction.
Currie will be inelgible until Round 7 - after the VFL State Game weekend.
