The final group of PNG Athletes who will prepare in the USA for next years Pacific Games leave Port Moresby this week for Snyder in West Texas. Poro Gahekave, Shirley Vunatup and Naomi Kerari will join Kevin Kapmatana , Andipas Georasi , Richard Dotaona ,Joe Matmat and coach Otto Wafia who left in mid January. Double gold medallist at the 2013 Mini Games Gahekaveand  bronze medallist in the womens 400m Vunatup will be hoping to post some good times as the outdoor season gets under way at the end of this month and continues through to the end of May.High jumper Kerari who has no training partners at home in Kokopo  is expected to benefit from training with a good squad of athletes and the attention of a specialist coach as she aims to improve in both triple and high jump.
