Summer Series #2

A little over 60 athletes participated in the event. Guam National Team members Naomi Blaz and Amy Atkinson performed well in their respected events with Blaz turning in a jump of 9.5 meters in the triple jump and Atkinson finishing the 400 meters in 1:03.64.
For the males the highlight of the meet was the 400 meters in which four individuals cracked the 55 second mark. Guam National Team member Derek Mandell clocked in a time of 52.82 to take first place followed by Jeofry Limtiaco(GNT), Michael Gaitan(GNT) and Luke Atkinson. Mandell also took first in the 5000 meters with a time of 17:02 amongst a field of 12 runners.
Overall, the meet went very well with ideal weather and a lot of competition. Guam National Team members were also using the meet to polish up their skills, and will take to the Leo Palace Track once again on the 17th of July for our National meet, followed by the Micronesian Games in Palau in early August.
Thank you to all competitors and fans who attended the event.
