Daniel takes out 3rd place at the NSW Laser Coast Championships

RO Col Chidley put on some great racing over the 2 days in relatively light conditions for most of the weekend. Day 1 saw some breeze come in and 3 good races completed. Day 2 was very light which saw Col hold everyone ashore for 2 hours before finally heading out with 8 knots of breeze to wrap up the regatta with 2 further races.

Daniel was representing both GRSC and RSYS in the Laser 4.7 squad and finished on the podium in 3rd place and just 1 point from a 1st place finish (which included a bullet in 1 race, 2nd in another and 2 x 3rd place finishes. It was an extremely tight and competitive 4.7 fleet which saw up to 6 sailors at the top end of the fleet battling it out till the very last race where Daniel finished 3rd by literally cms at the finish line!

This was Daniel's 2nd podium finish in as many regattas after recently finishing 3rd at the NSW Youth Championships a few weeks ago as he continues to prepare for the big summer of regattas coming up.

In the Radials, Jordan Makin from Belmont took out 1st place with 3 bullets, followed by Jack Littlechild from RSYS and Nathan Dutton from RQYS in 3rd.

In the Standards, it was a phenonimal performance by Brett Beyer from WSC with 5 straight bullets, Nick Skulander from WSC in 2nd and oskar Hanson from RSYS in 3rd.

Thanks to Gosford Sailing Club for putting on a great 2 days for all.
