It was a great showing by our club and we are immensely proud of each and every one of them.

GRSC was actually the 5th most represented club at this regatta behind RPA, WSC, HH and SLMASC which is a massive improvement on previous years. We are now consistently in the top 5 represented clubs at regattas which is great, and I have no doubt that this will continue to build even more!

Whilst the sun was out in sunshine for the weekend, it was light and shifty/tricky conditions that greeted the sailors on Day 1 with some wild fluctuations in all 3 races on the Saturday. Sunday also saw light breeze and really tested the sailors in many ways. But what a great learning experience for them all.

Ok, onto results and we will start with our Green Fleet who competed against 41 sailors in total and split into 2 fleets. Final places were as follows:

Brodie 8th (which included 2 bullets)
Mikayla 9th (which included 2 top 5 finishes)
Matt 12th (which included 2 top 5 finishes)
Olivia 22nd (which included 2 top 10 finishes)

Fantastic results for this exciting group of sailors. Well done Green Fleet!

Intermediate Fleet saw the most number of boats on the start line with 76 in the fleet:

Hayley 19th (including 1 top 5 finish)
Cameron 24th (including 1 top 20 finish)
Ben 27th (including 2 top 15 finishes)
Hannah 28th (including 1 top 15 finish)
Ariol 33rd (including 1 top 10 finish)
Ellen 45th (including 1 top 5 finish)
Brayden 54th (including 2 top half of fleet finishes)

Well done to our Intermediate fleet who are progressing so very well indeed!

Open Fleet saw 4 sailors from GRSC compete against 61 boats (that also included Ava competing in her first Open fleet regatta):

Josh 23rd (including 1 top 15 finish)
Ryan 26th (including 1 top 15 finish)
Ava 41st (including 1 top 30 finish)
Ben K 57th

Great work Open Fleet sailors and special mention to Ava for having her first go at Open Fleet!

Apart from the sailing, the GRSC team also managed to have a great fun pizza night back at camp GRSC and I wanted to thank Mandy Ewings for organising and ordering the pizzas for all. It was a great night with plenty of food, drinks and kids running wild all over the holiday park - it's times like these that remain in our memories and that kids will look back on in time with a 'smile'.

Finally a BIG thank you to Tim and Mike who brought their boats to SLMASC and provided parents with opportunities to get out on the water and see the action close up. It's always very much appreciated.
