GRSC Tasars at Woollahra TT

Four Boats from Georges River attended The Tasar Travellers Trophy on Sunday.

Boats Attending
RATZ – Gary and Robyn
Blewn – Bruce and Tina
Another Roady – Pete and Pia
SheepStations – Bernie and Sarah

Racing was held in a large washing machine just off shore from Woollahra SC (sometimes referred to as Sydney Harbour).

Three races were held with extremely close and competive racing.
Approx 15 boats attended with 6 boats ( three from Georges River) fighting it out for the front places.

During the Wash cycle there was Ferries of many sizes (we crossed two ferry lanes apparently) and the Sydney Harbour Regatta (one of the largest competive keelboat regattas in Australia they say) crossing within our Fleet.
Rinse Cycle saw Optis, B14s and Lasers.
And then the Spin cycle had the 18 footers as well heading upwind and downwind through our course area.
So a major part of the racing was navigating around the many larger, smaller, faster, slower boats mixed within our fleet racing.
Glad I had a jib I could see through.

Racing was fast and competive all done in good spirit, with sandwiches (triangles) and hot dog mixtures – with Beers following.
Strong Tides – General Recalls and black flags were also spotted.

Race results on the day after 3 races were;

Serendipity – Hugh and Anna Tait (Watch these guys at the states).
Vivace – Brad Stephens and Jenny Overton
Ratz – Gary and Robyn
Blewn – Bruce and Tina
Another Roady – Pete and Pia – who sailed to and from the Race from Manly. (Beats Woollahra parking issues).
Boogie Time ! – Ben and Claire – fastest recovery after a swim.
Sheepstations 2 – Bern and Sarah – Sarah’s organising a gym membership for Bernie.
