Diamond Development – U14 Age Group

Along with our representative pathway BSA is proud to host the annual Deb McColm shield day. This event was first introduced by Deborah McColm in 2007.  Deb’s efforts in junior development for BSA were exceptional and it is through her Diamond Development Academy that many of our representative players developed their skills and understanding to enhance their journey to representative level. The Deborah McColm Shield is in memory of Deb McColm and is a tribute to her contribution to softball and Junior Development. This one day tournament will be held at Downey Park, dates TBC.

How do I nominate?

Go to the BSA Website to lodge your nomination now. Nominations will close 3 days prior to the first advertised trial for each age group.

How will the team/s be selected and what is my commitment to this?

To be considered for team selection you will need to attend advertised trial dates for your nominated age group/s, be a current financial member of Brisbane Softball association or BSA registered club, comply with the selection process and satisfy the player selection criteria set out in the Representative Selection Policy. For further information please follow the link to the full representative selection policy documentation http://websites.sportstg.com/assoc_page.cgi?c=1-10872-0-0-0&sID=383513.

What if I am not selected?

In the event you are not selected and wish to participate at the State Championships there may be opportunities to be picked up by another Association. If this is something you would like to pursue then you must contact the BSA Development Team on sportsdev@brisbanesoftball.com.au to lodge your expression of interest. BSA must follow strict processes to identify pick up opportunities for their registered members.   Players must not approach other Associations to do this.

What is a Championship Release Form (CRF)?

If a pick up opportunity presents with another Association then the BSA Development Team will contact you to provide these details. If you accept then the pick-up Association will forward a CRF to the BSA Development Team who will then forward it to you for signing. You will need to return the signed form to the BSA Development Team who will finalise the CRF process with the pick-up Association on your behalf.

Please speak with one of our development committee if you have any questions regarding these programs.
