NS U19s Win State Title

The North Shore U19s started as probably 5th favourite at the State Championships. However, after a slight hiccup in their first game, they proceeded to show everyone what a team of players who had each other's backs, believed totally in themselves and each other while playing the game they enjoy with team mates they love being with, can achieve against all odds.

Team Head Coach JB sums it up:

Good morning CHAMPIONS WELL DONE, I am so proud of all of you, you did everything we asked of you and more, we had some brilliant plays and awesome batting, great pitching, I truly believe we played as a team, supported each other all the way, and had fun doing it, despite our loss to Hornsby we went on, to come back from a 4 run deficit to win against Sutherland, a great win against the #1 in A pool Penrith to end up in the Grand final against Manly. We truly showed them what team work and belief can do with a 7-5 win for the Championship, my thanks and appreciation to all of you. Thanks to the staff, Des, Ash Stuart, Sonja and Lynne (at least her dog wasn't there to bite me on the butt again lol) I couldn't have led the team without their help, input and encouragement, Lynne kept me on track the whole time, even told me what the score was throughout the games. Thanks so much Sonja for controlling things off the diamond it wouldn't have went so smoothly without your assistance, Ash and Stuart great job, Ash your motivational speeches was the key to our success in the last game, (thanks to Adrienne for keeping Ash and Stuart in the loop and making sure they responded to my emails and texts). Des great job with the girls and your support and input through out the season. I believe the Head Coach is only as good as the people he or she has around them, and you guys were great. Well back to the girls, we had a good time together and a win I won't forget (unless dementia sets in) I thoroughly enjoyed our time together, you made an old man very happy and proud to have worked with all of you. I do hope you enjoyed the journey as much as we did and wish you success in whatever you do in the future. Your very Proud Coach JB
