Oceania Represented at World Junior Championships

ceania is represented by two countries; Australia and New Zealand at the BWF World Junior Championships being played in Lima, Peru

The Championships consist of a team event followed by individual events

In the team event, Australia and New Zealand were drawn in the same pool box and played each other first up.  As expected the tie was a close battle with New Zealand jumping to a 2-0 lead with Australia coming back to win the tie 3-2

Both teams were then beaten by Denmark and Korea and defeated Venezula.  Australia finised 3rd in the group, NZ 4th.  In the play-off round Australia lost to Sweden, defeated Cuba and lost to Turkey to finish 22nd place.  New Zealand lost to Slovenia, defeated Chile and Domincan Republic to finish 29th

Top efforts by these two teams of our young players from the Region.
