SKYCITY NZ Badminton Open Rescheduled to August 2017

Due to a clash with the recently announced Adele concert, there will be a change to the date of the 2017 SKYCITY New Zealand Badminton Open.

The Adele concert has set numerous NZ ticket sales records with more than 100,000 sold for the three concerts. This has had a severe impact on a number of key components required to deliver our event. These factors include accommodation and transport availability and price as well as other critical event infrastructure requirements.

After taking advice from key stakeholders and in partnership with the BWF and our event partners we have set the new date for the SKYCITY New Zealand Badminton Open as the 1st – 6th August 2017. The TUI MEDICAL Waikato International 2017 will move the following week, being played from 9th – 12th August.

We look forward to once again delivering world-class badminton in our backyard at New Zealand’s premier international badminton tournament.
