BWF Women in Badminton Award

Val Nesbitt from Victoria, Australia was awarded the "Women In Badminton Award" from the BWF at the Gala Dinner in Dunggan, China in May, however has only just been presented with the award back home in Australia

Val is a long serving and pioneering administrator who – at age 81 – is still the secretary of Badminton Victoria.

“Val is an inspiration to women in Australia because she has been involved in badminton since age 15 in many different capacities. She has created many tournaments for women only; as well as for men and women, including the Atalanta Jamboree for women; the Australasian Under-17 and the Australia Under-15,” said Geraldine Brown - President Badminton Australia, President Badminton Oceania. Vice President BWF and Chair of the BWF Women in Badminton Commission

The certificate and plaque provided by the BWF are very striking and are a fantastic recognition to a lifetime of work in Badminton! Once again well done Val
