VANUATU YOUTH OLYMPIC GAMES EXPERIENCE

To be able to successfully compete at a true international event Vanuatu Hockey Federation YOG teams needed equipment, uniform and safety gear provided. Individuals sponsored new socks and goal keeping shirts while VASANOC through an Olympic Solidarity Grant provided two new sets of goal keeping gear.

St Pauls Collegiate hockey team from Hamilton New Zealand had organised a hockey tour during their October holidays to Chile and Argentina. Thanks to Head Coach Craig Hardman and accompanying parents Alan and Jackie Lints each team member took items to exchange with the Vanuatu teams, especially sticks and shoes. Alan and Jackie through their business Educare, were very generous in providing training shirts and other uniform to the teams, the photo attached showed the handover of the equipment to the womens team and the joy that the Vanuatu players experienced in unexpectedly gaining the new gear.
