Tigers in red hot form
The Willetton Tigers WSBL have been an unstoppable force in recent weeks.
Currently sitting in third place on the ladder, the girls have finished with straight wins over the last five rounds.
Willetton Tigers WSBL coach Simon Parker says the girls are feeling confident, but know they need to keep working hard to maintain their success.
“We want to sustain the brand of basketball we are playing going into the back half of the season and into the finals… we talk about it weekly at practice, it's good to be confident but we need to back it up when we get on the court,” Parker said.
“The vibe around the team is great, the support they have for each other is amazing, everyone is made to feel a part of it no matter how big or small their role in the group is.”
The Tigers will face a big challenge tonight as they go up against the best team in the competition.
They are taking on the current number-one team, the Joondalup Wolves, who have only lost one game this season.
Parker believes if his team can play their brand of basketball they are capable of winning against any team.
“Obviously playing against a team that's on top of the ladder, with one loss is your biggest test,” Parker said.
Currently they are the bench mark of the competition but I think when we play our brand of basketball we can get a win against any side in the league… winning the game is very important but we have to go through our processes to get there it isn't going to be easy,”
Head down to Willetton Basketball Stadium tonight to see our WSBL team challenge the top-team in the comp. WSBL tip-off at 6:30pm, MSBL at 8:30pm.
