Tigers are pumped for first home game - Parker
The Willetton Tigers WSBL are ready to go up a level for their first home game according to head coach Simon Parker.
The Tigers will be playing their first home game for the season against the South West Slammers this Thursday night.
The Tigers will be coming off the back of two straight wins and dominant performances from import Sami Whitcomb in both games.
Parker says the team love playing in front of a home crowd and the fans can look forward to watching Whitcomb play in her second last game for the Tigers.
“We love playing at home, the fans are very important to the team - it’s a very close community,” Parker said.
“We just about have a full house at home games and the girls love playing in front of those sorts of people and showing off their talent.
“The fans will also get to experience Sami playing for us which is great.”
Parker says his team are determined to win all their home games this year and hopes their fans are ready for the ride.
“You definitely go up a notch at home, we want to make sure the people who support us are getting rewarded,” Parker said.
“You don’t want to lose on your home courts so one of the goals this season is to make sure we win every game at home… we will definitely be trying harder.
“We’re just hoping it’s going to be a more successful season this year and hope the fans get on board for the ride.”
Catch the first home game of the season this Thursday at 6 30pm for the WSBL at Willetton Basketball Stadium. The SBL tip off is at 8 30pm.
