Skiff Report | 18 March 2018
2 races for the Belmont fleet and with a fresh Nor’Wester blowing that was forecast to decrease the fleet was split on rig selection.
The author of the weekly report spent a fair bit of the first race under water so please excuse the lack of detail!
The first race was a handicap start and it was the small rigs that faired the best. XXXX Gold sailed the gusty conditions very well to take the win on handicap. Tooheys Extra Dry, Pepsi Max and Newcastle Psychiatry were other boats to do well. Empty Jets sailed their best race of the season to take out fastest time.

2nd – Tooheys Extra Dry – Caitlin, Jason & Dante

The next race the breeze had dropped a bit and the Big Rigs were now favoured. The lead pack included East Coast Marine & Sail, TJS, Redicrete, Fire Stopping, Minder, Insight all on Big Rig and Southern Beaches was in the hunt early with a small rig.
Fire Stopping were picking the tricky conditions well and got to the front but in the dying stages of the race the Young Guns on TJS snatched the win.
