Skiff Report | 4 December 2016
Flying 11 kids in skiffs race at Belmont on Sunday morning and 18 skiffs turned up to take the kids for a ride. We have some emerging talent coming through the Junior ranks at Belmont and it's great to give them a taste on the 16s. Tom and Jacinta both did a great job steering their skiffs while Sophie had an awesome time out on the trapeze, taking on the sheethand role.

2nd - "Redicrete" - Jacinta Anderson
3rd - "Empty Jets" - Sophie Pilgrim
For the afternoon race we had an old courses day and we raced around the old Nor'East Course, triangle, windward return, triangle. It became a 2 horse race between "Insight" and the young guns on "TJS". They were so far in front of the rest of the boats that "TJS" overcame some spinnaker problems and an issue with their jib track and "Insight" recovered from a capsize and they were still comfortably the first 2 boats home. "XXXX Gold" sailed their best race this season to take out handicap honours. Emma Jones was steering "Belmont Bay Construction" brilliantly and unfortunately had some rudder problems which held them up and pushed them into 2nd on handicap. Action and Bluey used their generous righting moment to good effect on the shy runs and with the young gun bowmen Kurtis doing a great job up front they grabbed the final handicap podium spot.
