Cherub States wrap up at Teralba

Our Cherubs had a great weekend of racing on the Lake . . . not on Belmont Bay . . . around the corner and north to Teralba!

The final heats of the 2015-16 NSW Cherub State Championship were sailed over the weekend with our top Belmont crew of Kris Fay & Nigel Blatchford taking out 2nd place on Son of Wally.

Two races were sailed on Saturday and one race, in a fantastic breeze on Sunday.

Hooters took out 6th place skippered by Morgan York, Causing Haavik (Ryan & Brett Lancaster) were 7th just ahead of New Order (Andrew & Dave Stewart). Wally (Lateisha Bower & Jarrod Turner) rounded out Belmont’s Top 10 finishers, finishing in 10th.

Having to carry a DNC put French Tickler (Beynon Telford & Matt Hall) into 12th with Spread’ers (Adam Cooke & Thomas McNally) and Rack Em Up (Ryan Clifton-Smith & Tom Drury) doing the same for 15th & 16th respectively.

Camel Toe (Aaron Kirkby & Ashley Knighton) posted a couple of top 10 race results during the series to finish in 18th overall. Ricochet (Stuart Kirkby & Samantha Neilson) sailed a great day Sunday for a 14th finishing 23rd overall. Young Bailey Hord skippered Hooray with Alan Neilson up front to finish in 26th overall, posting a creditable 22nd in that strong breeze on Sunday – not bad considering his size!

Well done Belmont Cherub Team, always very competitive against both State and National fleets!
