Weekend Sailing Report - 14/15 Nov
It was certainly one for the light wind specialists out on the water on Saturday! Shifting winds, nothing above 8 knots and sometimes dropping down to 3 knots – enough to give our PRO’s ulcers!
The Pelicans sailed their Club Championship heat 3 and Graffiti took the honours sailing their way from 3rd to 1st up the last windward leg – congratulations!
Pelicans – Racing Squad - SCR: 1st Graffiti (William B & Darby J), 2nd Slingshot (Tom D & Taj W), 3rd Panther (Beau P & Jamie D). HCP: 1st Y Knot (Luke S & Jack M), 2nd Breakaway (Chelsea W & Bella J), 3rd Panther.
Recreation Squad – SCR & HCP: 1st Thunder (Lily C & Luca D)< 2nd Double Trouble (Sophie P & Zali W), 3rd Intrepid (Mary-Jane R & Bailey J).
Saturday afternoon saw the Flying 11s, Cherubs and 29ers hit the water to sail one point score race and then a heat of the Club Championship. The Laser were missing due to their State Championship being sailed down the Lake at Wangi. We also welcomed the Yachting NSW 29er Youth Sailing Team members to race for the afternoon.
Flying 11 – Race 1 SCR: Equal 1st Hot Chilli (Kelsey T & Georgia S) & Silly Galah (Thomas S & Cameron B), 2nd Oscar (Jed F & William B), 3rd Flight Time (Marcus L & Beau P). HCP: 1st Hot Chilli, 2nd Frustration (Courtney S & Lilli P), 3rd Oscar.
Race 2 – SCR: 1st Silly Galah, 2nd Hammertime (Tom D & Brin L), 3rd Oscar. HCP: 1st Frustration, 2nd Aku Aku (Bethany S & Joshua G), 3rd Ondalay (Aimee G & Chelsea W).
29ers – Race 1 SCR & HCP: 1st NHS (Tom C & Tom G), 2nd Nirvana (Emma J & Lucas G), 3rd Frontline (John C & Simon H).
Race 2 – SCR: 1st NHS, 2nd Seriously Guided (Tom S & Henry S), 3rd Frontline. HCP: 1st Seriously Guided, 2nd Nirvana, 3rd Frontline.
Cherubs – Race 1 SCR: 1st Causing Haavik (Brett L & Ryan L), 2nd Wally (Lateisha B & Jarrod T), 3rd Hooters (Morgan Y & Luke E). HCP: 1st Hooray (Bailey H & Alan N), 2nd Causing Haavik, 3rd Wally.
Race 2 – SCR 1st Causing Haavik, 2nd Wally, 3rd Hippy Hippy Shake (Kurtis S & Dante P). HCP: 1st Hippy Hippy Shake, 2nd Hooray, 3rd Spreaders (Adam C & Thomas M).
