AFL Sydney Division One Grand Final Preview

AFL Sydney Division One Grand Final Preview

UTS Bats v St George Dragons, 12.15pm Saturday 17th September @Blacktown ISP

What a season it has been in the AFL Sydney Division One and we are finally at the big day. The UTS Bats have impressed all year and were hands down the best Division One team this year in the regular season. However this year’s powerhouse club the St George Dragons will be looking to come from third place to claim the flag. What a match up it will be as we look towards the big day and we are sure that it will be a game to remember. Based on Friday team sheets there is a huge in for the St George Dragons as big man Travis Martin will line up at full forward replacing Declan Donahue as he gets pushed up into the Premier Division Grand Final. He has also been named as a Premier Division emergency so this could be a predetermined late change that may occur.

For the Dragons, look out for St George big man Steven Nabaki to fire. The young gun is not one of the teams big names but will be key for St George on Saturday. He has been playing out of the ruck a lot this year and while his top knot is a questionable fashion choice, his football is first rate. He is great with his second and third efforts and could be the difference through the middle on the big day.

The UTS Bats player Michael Izhik will be crucial to the Bats this Saturday. The Ruck/Fwd big man will be looking to control the distribution in the midfield and clunk a few goals up forward. He’s that guy that you’re really happy is playing on your team and we are sure the Bats will be looking towards him to provide the difference on the big day. The Bats are a very strong side and they will be out to show their brand of footy on the big stage.
