AFL Sydney Men's Representative Squad Selected

The AFL Sydney Representative squad has been selected to take on AFL Canberra over the June long weekend.

The selectors have picked a strong 29 man squad that will be looking to retain the Carter-Jesaulenko Shield when they take on Canberra at Gunghalin Enclosed Oval in the ACT on Saturday 11th June.

Tom Morrison will take the reigns for the side for the first time in 2016 and he will be assisted by Lindsay Scown and Alistair Gillespie.

The 2016 match-up between the two leagues is expected to be very even with the AFL Canberra competition getting stronger again thanks to the return of Ainslie from the NEAFL competition at the end of last season. The 2015 match up was a classic which saw AFL Sydney just hold on for a 12 point victory after comprehensively winning the 2014 clash in the nations capital.

The squad commence training tonight (Wednesday 25th May) and will have a subsequent two sessions before heading to the ACT over the Queens birthday weekend aiming to defend the trophy.
