Women's Round 3 Rising Star Angela Priftis (Auburn Giants)

AFL Sydney are pleased to announce the Round 3 Women's Rising Star is Angela Priftis of the Auburn Giants.

Angela played with Auburn last year as a junior permit player and has signed on this year as a permanent senior player.

Despite being one of the youngest players in Premier Division, Angela has an outstanding footballresumé, representing Sydney Harbour and NSW/ACT numerous times, and last year being selected as an U18 All Australian.

Her maturity, support for her team mates, dedication to training, and commitment to the improvement of her team has seen her appointed captain for the 2016 season.

Precision and determination allow Angela compete, and win, against larger and more experienced opponents. While spending most of her time as a rover, usually contributing the majority of our inside 50s in a match, she is also able to kick goals on the run, competes well in the air, and is also known to try and sneak into ruck contests when she is first to the stoppage.

Angela is a gifted young footballer whose remarkable abilities will continue to grow over the season, as she gains valuable experience playing against the best female footballers in AFL Sydney.

From all the team at AFL Sydney, Congrats Angela!
