Perth SC maintained their title charge as they scored three goals in 21 minutes to defeat Subiaco 3-1 at Rosalie Park on Saturday.

Asher Nelson put the home side in front, but goals from Lewis Milne, Aleks Jovic and Niccolo Sabbatini gave Perth a convincing victory in the end.

Alex Randell missed a late penalty for Subiaco but the damage was done as Perth coach Ramon Falzon reflected on another fine performance from his side.

“I thought we played very well, our backline only made one mistake,” he said.

“We expected them to come out and press us and give space behind especially on the flanks.”

Subiaco player coach Ian McMurray felt that quality in the final third was the only thing lacking from his side.

 “We got a bit lazy, they came into the game and we couldn’t stop them,” he said.

“The difference is the final third - the final delivery was better for them and they took their chances.”

The game got off to an explosive start with both sides showing pace in transition.

Subiaco were rewarded for their fast start on eight minutes when McMurray flicked the ball onto Nelson who hit a dipping volley into the top corner.

Perth equalised on 24 minutes, though, when Lewis Milne finished a simple chance after finding himself in acres of space.

They led two minutes later when Jovic was played through to net, before Sabbatini put Perth in a commanding position when he swept in their third.

The second half produced less chances, but Subiaco were handed a lifeline with a few minutes to play when Perth conceded a penalty for handball.

Rendell could only hit the upright with the spot kick and things got worse for Subi late on, when Alex Castiello was given a red card for pulling back Gustavo Catarcione.
