Season Preview: Balcatta

Football West News

Balcatta coach Salv Todaro is heading into the 2017 PS4 NPL WA season with a positive approach, despite his team’s exit from the QBE Night Series in the first round.

Todaro, who has taken the position vacated by Marc Anthony, expects Balcatta to be pushing for a place in the Top Four Cup at the season’s end.

“The key to the club having a good season will be getting the young players to gel quickly whilst playing to the teams’ structure and potential,” he said.

“All of the players in our squad are the key to the team achieving our goals.

“My expectation is for the players to play to their full potential and if they are able to achieve this, I would expect us to be knocking on the top four’s door come season end.”

Todaro is tipping Bayswater City and ECU Joondalup to be serious contenders this year, although he expected a tight battle for the title.

“All teams are capable of beating each other, which is what makes playing in this league so exciting,” he said.

Balcatta will be going head-to-head with Sorrento on Friday at Percy Doyle Reserve in the first round of the PS4 NPL WA season.
