Full report here.

Canberra United Academy 11 (Isabella Barac 7', Sarah Morgan 13', Aoife Colvill 25', 42', 65', 68', Karly Roestbakken 26', 65', 68', 87', Hayley Taylor-Young 60') def. Monaro Panthers 0

The Canberra United Academy turned on the scoring on Saturday night as they blitzed Monaro to the tune of 11 goals.

Aoife Colvill and Karly Roestbakken each scored four goals in the rout, but it was Isabella Barac who kicked off proceedings with a goal just seven minutes in. Sarah Morgan netted six minutes later as the Academy got rolling and when Colvill netted her first 25 minutes in the Academy were suddenly three goals up and in the clear.

Roestbakken netted her first a minute later and there was still time in the first half for Colvill to grab a second goal and send the Academy into the break five goals up.

Monaro put up a strong effort to start the second half as they looked to limit the damage but Hayley Taylor-Young scored 15 minutes in and Roestbakken and Colvill scored two more each in the next eight minutes as the score ballooned out quickly.

Roestbakken added the finishing touches with three minutes to go in regulation and help bring the Academy within four points of second spot, with a game in hand on second-placed Canberra FC.

Woden-Weston Football Club 1 (Alana Bain 75') def. By Canberra FC 2 (Grace Gill 12', 60')

Canberra FC continued to tighten their grip on second spot with a 2-1 win against Woden-Weston thanks to a brace from Grace Gill.

The visitors started strongly and Grace Gill’s goal just 12 minutes into the game ensured that they could relax a little on an early lead.

They continued to create chances throughout the half, as did Woden-Weston on occasion but the teams remained separated by just a goal at the break.

Canbera FC began the second half strongly as well though, and when Gill netted her second 15 minutes in to the second half it looked like Mark Risteski’s side were ready to run away with the game.

But Alana Bain’s goal 15 minutes from time threw the door open for the Wanderers and gave them momentum for the last part of the match.

Canberra FC proved too strong though down the stretch and held on for the three points to keep them four ahead of the Academy with three matches to play.

Gungahlin United Football Club 0 drew. Tuggeranong United Football Club 0

Tuggeranong United picked up their first point of the season and recorded their first clean sheet as they held Gungahlin United to a goalless draw on Sunday.

Gungahlin United came out of the blocks strongly and looked to take the game to Tuggeranong United, and with most of the possession came plenty of chances.

The visitors remained steadfast at the back though and held out well to ensure the game was goalless at half-time.

After the break the game continued in much the same vein with the hosts doing the majority of the attacking, but it was to no avail as they were unable to convert their chances as time wound down.

The result leaves Gungahlin United level on points for fourth with Olympic ahead of a crunch meeting with them this weekend, while Tuggeranong remain rooted to the foot of the table.
