Nine NPLW clubs confirm 2019 coaching staff

All nine clubs competing in the 2019 National Premier Leagues Women’s Capital Football have confirmed their head coaches for next season.

There is no change at the top as Antoni Jagarinec begins planning for another season in charge of treble winners Belconnen United, while Nik Brozinic takes the reins of their Grand Final opponents Canberra FC after a successful season at age-grade level.

Andrew Woodman takes over at Canberra Olympic and will be assisted in the role by Nicole Begg, and there will be a family flavour when they take on CUA with former Canberra United striker Ashleigh Sykes in charge of the 2019 1st grade team at the Academy.

Diego Iglesias remains at Gungahlin United and he will be looking to take them back into the top four after they narrowly missed out on a finals berth in 2018, having lost a number of key players in the off-season.

Ian Worthington once more will lead the Monaro Panthers, who will aim to improve on a tough 2018 campaign that saw a very young side finish second bottom ahead of Tuggeranong United.

Speaking of Tuggeranong, Michael Aldred will continue to oversee the Women’s Program and coach the first grade side, while Mark Boyd will move up from the NPLW U/17’s team at Woden-Weston to coach the first grade side in 2019, assisted by Sarah West.

Wagga City Wanderers, the new kids on the block, will be coached by Mick Godbier with Gary Lyons taking on the role of Director of Women’s Football as Wagga City prepare for their first season in the league.

Fixtures for the 2019 competition will be announced soon.
