Gungahlin United moved into the top four with a comfortable 3-0 victory over Tuggeranong United at Kambah.

Charlotte Lynch got the visitors off to a perfect start after just seven minutes, collecting the rebound after her initial effort was saved and firing into an open net.

Gungahlin continued to hold sway for the opening 20 minutes and created plenty of chances but were unable to convert as the hosts did well to absorb Gungahlin’s weight of possession.

Just as it looked like Tuggeranong were beginning to work themselves forward and back into the match, Melissa Bunker rifled an effort into the top corner from just outside the area to cut their momentum short and extend the lead to two goals.

The score remained that way for the rest of the first half and the sides entered the break separated by two goals, and with very different outlooks for the second half.

Tuggeranong came out of the blocks strong in the second half, holding sway over possession early and looking to create chances to work their way back into proceedings. Adriana Ilheo and Kristy Helmers were dangerous early and looked to cause some problems for the visitors.

Despite the plethora of chances for hosts at the start of the second half, they were unable to capitalise and Gungahlin soon put paid to any hopes of a comeback.

A 76th minute sub saw Lynch replaced by Manessah Humphries and just a minute later she fired home from distance to push the lead to three goals and seal the game.

The win lifted Gungahlin United into fourth sport over Canberra Olympic who they will face next weekend, while Tuggeranong take on second from bottom Monaro as they chase their first win.
