2016 Premier & State League 1 Fixtures Released

Football Federation SA (FFSA) is pleased to release the 2016 PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues (NPL) South Australia fixtures. 

With the competition expanding to three divisions in 2016 and the addition of three clubs, Mt Barker United, Fulham United and Vipers SC, the competition is set to be as entertaining as ever. 

Blockbuster match ups commence from Round 1, with the season kicking-off on Friday 26 February. 

2015 PlayStation 4 NPL SA League Premiers and Champions West Adelaide face newly promoted  Adelaide Olympic in the first game of the season at Adelaide Shores Football Centre. 

2015 State League Champions Adelaide United will close out Round 1 when they take on PlayStation 4 NPL Grand Final runners-up Adelaide Blue Eagles at Elite Systems Football Centre. 

The successful Regional Round will continue in 2016 with  MetroStars returning to Mount Gambier in their Round 3 fixture against Campbelltown City, Adelaide Comets is scheduled to visit Whyalla with Adelaide City in Round 4 and Croydon Kings will experience their first Regional Round in Roxby Downs with regular visitors West Torrens Birkalla in Round 7. Expansion of the Regional Round is set to occur in 2016, with Riverland in strong contention to play host. 

The State League 1 competition commences from Friday the 4th of March and sees relegated sides White City, Pirates and Para Hills Knights all opening their seasons at home. 

The State League 2 competition will kick-off on Saturday 9th of April with fixtures set to be released in early January 2016. 

FFSA Chief Executive Officer Michael Carter noted that the competition ahead is exciting. 

“Season 2016 marks the beginning of a new three year licence period for senior men’s Football in South Australia. 

“The states semi professional competition is underestimated, as are the players who participate in it. Recent history suggests that supporters of the local game are set for a most interesting year ahead.”
