Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 Draw

The long awaited draw for the Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Round of 32 will be held at 4pm (AEST) this Wednesday (1 July) at Fox Sports HQ in Sydney and will be broadcast live and exclusive on Fox Sports News (ch500) as well as being streamed online at www.foxsports.com.au & www.theffacup.com.au.

The nationwide competition kicked off in February with 648 entrants and after 617 fixtures the field now consists of the 10 Hyundai A-League clubs, the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues 2014 Champions (MetroStars from FFSA) who received automatic qualification to the Round of 32, and 21 Member Federation clubs.

The Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Round of 32 draw will once again be hosted by Fox Sports football personality Michael Zappone who will be joined by former Socceroo and foundation Hyundai A-League defender, Michael Beauchamp, along with former South Melbourne striker and current head coach of the Bentleigh Greens, John Anastasiadis, who steered his team to the semi-finals of the Westfield FFA Cup 2014.

While the Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Round of 32 draw will reveal who meets who in the Round of 32, the specific match details in regards to the dates, venues and kick-off times will be announced on Friday 3 July.

The 16 matches in the Round of 32 of the Westfield FFA Cup 2014 will be split over three weeks (28 July – 12 Aug), with four games scheduled per match day on either Tuesday and/or Wednesday nights. Fox Sports will broadcast one match live and exclusive in full on each match day in the Round of 32, Round of 16 and Quarter Finals with single camera coverage at all other matches with both Semi Finals and the Westfield FFA Cup Final broadcast live and exclusive in full.

The Westfield FFA Cup Round of 32 Draw Process will see the competing clubs separated into three pots – Pot A for the four (4) Hyundai A-League 2015 Semi Finalists, Pot B for the remaining six Hyundai A-League clubs, and Pot C for the PlayStation 4 National Premier Leagues 2014 Champions and 21 Member Federation clubs. The balls in Pot A and Pot B will be in alphabetical order and the balls in Pot C will be organised based on the alphabetical order of the Member Federation and then in alphabetical order of the clubs within each member federation (see table below)

The first phase of the Westfield FFA Cup 2015 Round of 32 draw will see 6 balls drawn alternatively out of Pot B with the first ball of the pair receiving home team status resulting in three (3) fixtures involving a Hyundai A-League Club facing a Hyundai A-League club.

The third and final phase of the draw sees the remaining balls drawn alternatively from Pot C and Pot A resulting in four (4) Member Federation club v Hyundai A-League club matches, where the Member Federation club will be automatically designated as the home team.
