Adelaide Olympic and Campbelltown will meet for the second time this week in Round 9 of the PlayStation 4 National Premier League South Australia.

The two sides played on ANZAC Day earlier in the week in the second round of the Westfield FFA Cup qualifying stages, with Campbelltown progressing to the next phase with a 2-1 victory.

Olympic head into the contest on a three game winning streak which has seen them rise from 11th up to equal 7th.

Another win this week and Olympic could find themselves in the top six at the conclusion of the round should results go their way.

Olympic’s Kosta Mantis said positivity was a key reason for a 180 in form.

“It's true we have hit a good run of form & that is due to the club, coaches and players staying positive and always believing.

“We had very tight contested games in the early rounds of the season that could have gone either way so I'm not surprised we won 3 games in a row.

“Football is a funny game, three weeks ago we were stuck on the bottom of the ladder with 1 point and now fast forward to Saturday & a win could put us in the 6.

“The boys are pumped and definitely ready for the challenge. “

Campbelltown also approach Saturday in fine form after back to back wins in the NPL over Adelaide Comets and Raiders.

The Red Devils possess the second most dangerous attack in the league, having scored 20 goals over eight rounds, only nine behind league leaders Adelaide City.

Anthony Ture said Campbelltown’s results on the weekend, which saw them score a combined six times and only concede twice, was a good indication of how damaging the team could be.

“We are a team that loves to keep the ball and dictate the way the opposition plays.

“Scoring six goals over the weekend is a great indication that we have the players and confidence to create chances; with the experience of Shaun Harvey and Iain Fyfe controlling the back line we have conceded very little, however as a team we have become more disciplined and structured.

“We are always looking to utilise our wingers and full backs as much as possible and so far this season we have got a lot of joy from these attacking areas.

“We need to do the same this weekend and try to exploit players like Lui [Ditroia], Jacob [Williams] and myself as much as possible and really attack their full backs.”

Olympic have conceded 21 goals, which could spell trouble for the home side on the weekend.

Mantis said the home side needed to be wary of the quality Campbelltown possess up top.

“Campbelltown have quality all over the park and Joe Mullen has his team organised & well drilled.

“Going off Monday's game I thought we put Campbelltown on the back-foot when we attacked with numbers and were positive; on the flip side this means we have to be cautious to counter attacks as Campbelltown possess some quick and creative players that can cause damage.

“In saying that I believe we should go into this game focusing on ourselves and what we do well, If we manage to execute our tactics & play the football we want too I am confident we will come away with 3 points.”

Ture said his side is expecting a tough game from his inform opposition.

“Olympic are a very well structured team that have the ability to really hurt teams on the counter.

“As a team we have discussed this and believe that if we stick to the way we play and dictate the game to our standards then it should be a very interesting but also good game.

“We are expecting a tough game against a side that have the players to potentially hurt teams; they have a squad which is mixed with youth and experience and overall it should be a great game of football.”
