INFO: South Melbourne v MetroStars

NPL Victoria champion South Melbourne will host NPL South Australia champion MetroStars SC on Sunday for a spot in the Playstation 4 NPL 2014 Finals Series.

A superb overhead kick goal from Jamie Reed saw South Melbourne defeat South Hobart 1-0 to book its spot in the semi finals, while MetroStars prevailed in a penalty shootout against Football West representative Bayswater City.

Sunday's semi final will be streamed live by Football Federation Victoria (FFV) on YouTube (link to follow on FFV website), with the audio live on FFV Radio.

Should South Melbourne win, it will play the winner of Bonnyrigg White Eagles (NSW) v Palm Beach Sharks (QLD) in the grand final on October 4/5.

In order to determine the host Member Federation and club for the grand final, the following points system will be applied at the conclusion of the semi finals:

Win within 90 minutes = 3 points
Win during extra time = 2 points
Win on penalties = 1 point
Goals for (excluding penalty shootouts) = 3 points
Goals against (excluding penalty shootouts) = -1 point
Yellow card = -1 point
Red card = -3 points
