2019 NPL Victoria Women's Fixture Goes Live
Football Victoria is excited to announce the release of the 2019 National Premier Leagues Victoria Women's & Girls' fixtures today. The 2019 fixture is live now and available to view.
The state's premier women's & girls' competitions are back for their third season, after reform from the old Women's Premier League at the end of 2015.
Defending senior champions FC Bulleen Lions will begin their title defence with a Monday night home game against Heidelberg United on February 25 at the Veneto Club.
The rest of the senior league kicks off on Saturday February 23 with a bumper day of four matches.
A senior grand final re-match between FC Bulleen Lions and South Melbourne falls in round three, on Monday March 11 at the Veneto Club.
Geelong Galaxy United will call Stead Park in Geelong home this season, having previously played at Banyul Warri Reserve in Torquay.
The competition is home to a number of current and former Westfield W-League players and youth internationals vying for identification and selection for the Westfield Young Matildas and Westfield Junior Matildas. This includes stars of the ABC TV series Kick, who play in the NTC program.
NPLW Victoria 2019 - Key Details
The season length remains 27 games with three head-to-head meetings each for the nine competing clubs, and Victoria's NTC girls program. The NTC girls will play each opponent at home once only.
The top four teams in each division will play finals, with semi-finals to be 1v4 and 2v3 with winners to advance to the grand final, excluding NTC girls teams. NTC girls teams cannot compete in finals but can win the premiership for finishing top of the ladder.
The senior NPL Victoria Women's Grand Final will be held on Sunday September 15 as part of a triple header with the NPL Victoria Men's promotion-relegation playoff and Grand Final. Full details to be confirmed.
The junior girls grand final gala day for U19, U16 and U14 will be held on the weekend of September 21-22 with full details to be confirmed.
Fixture details for the Football Victoria Community Shield - to be contested by Grand Final winner FC Bulleen Lions and Women's State Knock-Out Cup champion Calder United - will be released at a later date. The match will be held on or prior to the weekend of February 15-17.
