SYDNEY ROOSTERS JRL 2017 SURVEY RESULTS

The Sydney Roosters JRL recently circulated a survey seeking feedback on the new arrangements for Junior Rugby League in the Eastern Suburbs in 2017.

We are pleased to advise that we had a very positive response with 31% of families responding to the survey with overwhelming support oft he new arrangements.

NSWRL RESPECT ROUND - MAY 21 2017

NSWRL Respect Round
20 – 21 May 2017


In a bid to eliminate poor behaviour on and off the field, the New South Wales Rugby League is implementing a Junior League ‘Respect Campaign’ across Sydney. The primary aim is to ensure all players, volunteers and parents act in a manner that displays the core values of the game.

 The Respect Round this weekend 20 – 21 May 2017 involves ALL NSWRL Junior League clubs in particular focusing on coaches, referees and players demonstrating actions of “Respect” They will all be required to shake hands on the field prior to the kick off of all matches this weekend!. Coaches will also be wearing #letthemplay caps with the captains  of teams a “Respect” yellow armband to demonstrate their leadership and respect in the team.  

 Clubs and teams are encouraged to take photos of their coaches, players and referees shaking hands, and use the hashtags #lethemplay and #respect. The most active Clubs with photos on their Facebook page will be rewarded with a prize! 


Coaches
During the NSWRL Junior League Respect Round all coaches of a team are required to meet on the field, with the players, and shake hands with the match officials prior to kick off. In addition to this all coaches are to wear a #lethemplay cap identifying them as the leader, demonstrating they believe in and display the core values of the game.

Players

Players across Sydney during the NSWRL Junior League Respect Round are required to meet on the field, line up opposite to each other and shake hands prior to kick off. In addition to this all captains are to wear a #respect armband identifying them as the leader, demonstrating they believe in and display the core values of the game.

Referees
During the NSWRL Junior League Respect Round all match officials and referees are required to meet on the field, alongside the players and shake hands with the coach prior to kick off. By doing this the referees and match officials are demonstrating their desire to adhere to and respect the game.

MINI LEAGUE (UNDER 6 to UNDER 8)

Competition Commencement Date – 30th April

Join A Different League – Mini League

An exciting new league in the heart of the Eastern Suburbs It’s family-friendly, same time, same venue, with games played during the school terms ONLY

Designed to create a positive and rewarding experience for all participants, the Mini League has new updated rules ensuring a fun, free-flowing game, where players are rewarded for effort.

Mini League 2017

Where: Waverley Oval

When: Every Sunday Morning

Length: 13 week competition (April to August), no games during school holidays or public holiday weekends

All Mini League registrations include a Roosters season ticket, Roosters merchandise, half time game opportunities at Allianz Stadium and more! 



MOD LEAGUE (UNDER 9 to UNDER 12)

Competition commencement date 23rd April.

New for 2017, the Mod League will be played with the Balmain District Junior Rugby League. The season will be played on Sundays over 15 rounds (home and away fixtures), with a three week final series and finals at Leichhardt Oval.

JNR INTERNATIONAL - CONFERENCE COMPETITIONS

Competition Commencement Date – 23rd April

13’s and above will participate in the Eastern Conference Competition consisting of teams from Eastern Suburbs, Balmain and South Sydney districts for U13’s – U17’s and a wider conference area (yet to be confirmed) for U19 and Opens.
