303s and Liberties invited to Sauna Sail

Latrobe Valley's iconic Sauna Sail is on again this year from 10th to 12th June.

Despite the fact that the Hazelwood Power Station closed at the end of March, the regatta will still take place, with the only difference being that the water will be cold.

Racing is scheduled across the three days of the Queen's Birthday long weekend at Latrobe Valley Yacht Club. A limited number of boats will be available for charter for those unable to bring their own.

This is a great event for 303 and Liberty sailors to compete as an invited class in an open regatta. The sheltered sailing area on the Pondage makes it ideal for the novice and experienced racers alike.

Latrobe Valley Yacht Club is about 90 minutes drive south-east of Melbourne. Accomodation is plentiful in nearby Morwell, Traralgon and Churchill. You can also camp at the venue. The Latrobe City Council has constructed camping facilities at Hazelwood Pondage. Some Powered sites are available along with shower and toilet block facilities.  There is plenty of room to camp.  You do not need to book.  The camping fees are to be paid to the Park Caretaker.
