Hansa Classes invited to open regatta at Geelong

Hansa Class sailors are invited to take part in the 2017 Festival of Sails Off the Beach regatta.

The regatta takes places at Royal Geelong Yacht Club on January 26th & 27th.

RGYC have a limited number of Hansa 2.3 and 303's that they are prepared to make available for free - or you can bring your own boat. If you are interested in sailing one of the Club's boats, please contact Shauna at secretaryahca@gmail.com

This is a great 'test event' for sailors to familiarize themselves with the conditions off Eastern Beach prior to the Combined Asia Pacific Championships, which take place from April 14th - 17th. (Read more about the Asia Pacific Championships here).

Sailors are advised that the Cadel Evans Great Ocean Road Ride will start outside the Club on January 27th, so accommodation in the Geelong CBD may be tight. It is advisable to look at booking accommodation shortly.

The link to the Online entry is available here. (Select Off the Beach regatta). ** Close of entries has been extended until January 20th. **

The Festival of Sails is the largest regatta in the Southern Hemisphere and this is the first time that the Club have run an Off the Beach regatta. So, it's a great opportunity for Hansa Sailors to get in some practice prior to the Asia Pacifics - particularly Victorian sailors, who do not have a stand-alone State Championships as host of the Combined Regional Championships.
