Noreen Hay MP advises of Clubhouse Grant

by Stephen

I am very excited to announce that we have been successful in our application for a NSW Government Community Building Partnerships grant for the upgrade of our clubhouse. John Storer, Chris Tulloch and Stephen Phillips put a considerable amount of time and effort into preparing our grant application which has now paid off.

Member for Wollongong, Noreen Hay MP, today advised the club that $10,000.00 will be provided for an awning and general upgrade work as requested in our submission. I believe this is the first time Wollongong Yacht Club has been successful in such a grant application!

The works envisaged by the committee include:

  • a wet weather cover and wind protection to the grassed area at the front of the building
  • painting of the outside of the buidling
  • additional seating

To get the most out of our $10,000.00 we will be calling on members to volunteer their time to help complete the work over the next few months.
