YACHTS AND THEIR OWNERS WANTED
If you are a yacht at the marina and are getting a bit bored from lack of use and also bored with only having the same two neighbours to talk to week after week put one, two or all three of these propositions to your owner.
The Mackay Yacht Club runs three activities that could interest you both.
First off, racing. Now your owner might not want the hassle of rounding up a crew each time you go out or he might not like the idea of flying a spinnaker in order to be competitive. Fair enough, those kites can create a bit of drama every now and then. So to overcome those two objections tell him that the yacht club is proposing to run races where each yacht can only carry a headsail and a main. That gets rid of both of his objections. All he has to do is round up one or two mates, wives or girlfriends and he has a crew. And no yacht will be flying a spinnaker so he will be competitive without one.
Secondly, Social Sailing. This is run on Saturday afternoons when there is no racing on, when the weather is suitable and when enough yachts are available. We take out a wide variety of people for a few hours sailing. Some people come to learn about sailing, others to find out what sailing on a yacht is like, while other still are there because they enjoy the company and like being out on the water. For this one he doesn’t even have to round up a crew. If required he will be supplied with an experienced crew person to help out. Tell him to come sailing one day on one of the other yachts which is going out and he will get to meet the sort of people who usually come social sailing.
So next time you see him tell him what the yacht club is doing and tell him to contact Bob Hayman on 4956 2618 or firstname.lastname@example.org to find out more details.
