NSW Optimist Sailors Conquer Queensland Youth Week

by Melissa Williams-Brown

NSW was well represented in July at Queensland Youth Week.  Sailors from various NSW clubs made the trek up to Queensland and sailed in varying conditions over several days.

Otto Henry took out first place in the open fleet followed by Archie Cropley in second place.  Ryan Littlechild (7th), Tom Green (8th) and Jack Ferguson (10th) from NSW had outstanding open fleet performances as well.

The NSW sailors dominated the intermediate fleet with Pearl Twomey (MHYC) taking second place and Finlay Crafter (RPAYC) taking third place.  Olivia Williams (RPAYC) and Brigit Conrad (GSC) showed their sailing prowess as well by finishing fourth and fifth!
