Blinking Billy 11 December 2013

This weekend is the last formal racing day before many of our club members pack up and head to Victoria for national championships.  We will have all 3 fleets represented at a National level and logistics are now in place to ensure that each fleet has a rubber duck and coaches on hand to assist them. Thanks to Richard Fisher (Tamar Yacht Club/TIODA) for his work in organising a 40 foot container for Optimists and coach boats which will be loaded on Sunday.

Reflecting on the fist half of the season I think that the Hill Street coaching program has proved a huge success assisting our members be the best they can be. The introduction of paid coaches for the Hill Street program and the Harcourts Tackers program has allowed our small volunteer club to continue to meet demand. I have been particularly impressed with our senior youth members who are actively volunteering each Saturday, growing skills and maturity as each week passes.
Finally I would like to thank all volunteers who have made the first half of our season such a success and wish all members a very happy holiday season.

Opti trailer  Found / Lost

At the Kingston Beach TIODA weekend there was a mix up with trollies. Can you please check you have your own trolley. Sarah Piggott (Daniel & Josh Wragg's mum) has the trolley belonging to sail number 953 and would like to find their own before packing the container this weekend. The Wragg trolley doesn't have a bow wow, has red plastic glider tracks and black tape around the neck under the handles.  Perhaps a swap could be arranged at this weekend at the TIODA training.
