Rule Changes

Hi Cadet sailors

Just a little heads up re some rule changes that may come into play at Nationals this year. The ISAF sailing rules have been amended to include the below. The U flag (red and white checks) has been introduced as a “soft black flag” and will be used more and more in the future. It basically means that if you cross the line within the 1 minute and the race goes ahead – you will still be scrubbed, however, if the start ends up as a general recall or gets abandoned, restarted etc. you get a second chance and can start and compete in subsequent races.

11.5 adds flag U – kinder gentler Black Flag – allows them back in the race if it is restarted / re-sailed / postponed / abandoned before start signal …  this changes rule 26 AND 63.1.    Jill

Club Operation

Roster for this Saturday (16th November)

Please note that PJ Mini Series races commences at 10.00am each day, so please ensure that mark boat and patrol boat crews are on-water reporting in to the start boat no later than 9.30am

Rescue boat crews rostered on O’Rielly and Burnell on Saturday, please note that Tackers will be using these boats until 11am

The DSS Black duck will need to be collected from DSS on Saturday morning

The RYCT are also sending patrol boats to the course on both days, so there will be sufficient boats on course until our club boats are released from tackers

Rescue boats will be stored overnight at the DSS to fee up space in the boat shed to store competitors boats from other clubs.  Please liaise with Shaun Tiedemann regarding berthing arrangements.
