Blinking Billy 10 March 2016

This weekend is a well earned rest for everyone, particularly those people who have tirelessly worked over the past two weekends to help deliver state titles in seven different classes. Many thanks to everyone for your support, the class associations have been very complimentary and appreciative.

On a more serious note, and with only one week to go (a DSS and SBSC Pennant double header - points count to both pennants)....

Attention All SBSC sailors
compulsory briefing will be held prior to sailing on Saturday the 19th March 1230hrs upstairs at the Sandy Bay Sailing Club. The discussion will involve on water behaviour, obeying rules, taking penalties and fair sailing. The SBSC sailing committee will be introducing an on water jury to oversee the final Pennant races on that day. Jonathan Reese will be the juror for the day and he will explain his role and what he looks for in relation to propulsion, rule 69 and to answer any questions prior to hitting the water. This will help us all in understanding of rules and thus add to everyone’s knowledge when we represent our club at all club, state, national and international regattas.

Finally, good luck to all sailors venturing north of Bass Strait this weekend to contest the Victorian State Championships. SBSC will be well represented with Fynn & Lawrie in the Cadets, and Jasmin & Chloe, Hugo & Hugh in the 29ers. Good luck and fair breeze.
