Commodore's Message

This Saturday is the third weekend of the SBSC Pennant and Tillett selection races and once again we will be joined on the course by the RYCT Off-The-Beach sailors. This week the RYCT Off-The Beach will also be running the racing and providing the on-course support as part of our shared resources agreement. Whilst this give some of our volunteers the opportunity to take a breath, I expect that the racing on the water will again be very competitive.

I was very impressed last week by all of our SBSC sailors and your determination to get around the course in our windiest day so far this season. This week's forecast looks a little lighter and should provide excellent racing conditions once again.

Don't forget we are announcing race winners on the lawn after sailing, so please stay around and congratulate the day's winners.  We should also have the Pennant and Tillet selection race results to date complete by this weekend. We apologise for the delay.

PJ SUPER SERIES DATE CHANGE: The PJ Super Series will now be held on 28/29 November. Races due to be held 28 Nov have been rescheduled to 21 Nov (the original date for the PJ Super Series). NOR and Entries will be available shortly.

Sailing Gear and Boat Sale

With the sailing season just started, it’s a great time to go through your sailing gear and sort out anything you’ve outgrown or don’t use. Bring your extra gear down to the Club this Saturday and sell or exchange it at the second hand sailing gear sale. You may even have a boat to sell?

For anyone just starting out in sailing, or for the old salty sea dogs, it’s also a great time to check out what types of gear the young sailors are wearing and pick up some useful items.

Where: the front lawn of the club
What to bring: your unwanted sailing gear
What to display: boats you might have for sale (please put any boats on the western side of the lawn so that sailors can rig their boats in the morning)
