Bridge to Breakers

Another fantastic regatta over for the year.  This year's Bridge to Breakers ('Breakers' was meant to signify Yamba not a mast!) saw some extremely close racing with a variety of winds throughout the weekend.  Unfortunately the gusty westerly on Saturday tried a few to the extreme but made for some excellent racing and a competition to see who swam the most!

On Sunday morning the usual light winds resulted in a more peaceful race.  Then the Easterly afternnon breeze came in on cue to round off the weekend.

Great sailing, delicious food and fantastic company!  See our facebook group for photos and the Results tab on this website for the overall results.

There are a selection of photos from Phil Robbins here and in the gallery and many more kindly taken by Jan Wilson at Bridge to Breakers 2016 Photo Album

Racing Rules of Sailing

Regardless of the sport there are rules of some description and sailing is no exception, however the Racing Rules of Sailing are not as easily learnt or understood as perhaps in other sports. The following links are good sources of information for anyone wanting to know more (which should be all of us!).
