Hello and welcome to another season 2018/2019.
After a good winter break I’m sure we are all looking forward to getting back out onto the water and battling it out. Last season was closely contested with some excellent sailing and conditions, and contained the usual amount of dramas, mishaps, good days and not so good days.
We hosted the Flying Dutchman Nationals in February this year in conjunction with our own annual Regatta and saw some very competitive racing. A big thank you goes to all the members who volunteered their time and effort to make this extended weekend a success. Hosting such events is very important to our club, not just financially, but also in maintaining a visible and active profile within our community and the wider sailing fraternity.
On another note it is most pleasing to record that there has been real progress in Snug Cove with the much needed and long awaited wave attenuator now fully funded by the NSW State Govt. and due for construction start early 2019. When completed in the first half of 2020, the attenuator will provide a safe harbour, allowing for the construction of a 170 berth marina. This in turn will provide an ongoing economic boost to the Eden community as well as the potential opportunity for new members for our club.
Again I would like to thank the committee and others within the club for their dedication and the many efforts, often unsung, that all go to making our club a success. I would also like to extend a special thanks to all our sponsors and advertisers who have again given most generously to support the production of this handbook and to provide our Regatta with prizes. Please support our sponsors in return.
